NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A portion of Interstate 40 was closed Sunday morning after a crash involving a vehicle driving the wrong direction, according to officials.
Authorities said around 5:30 a.m., a pickup truck driving in the wrong direction entered the eastbound lanes of the interstate and hit a semi-truck head-on near mile marker 209.
Tennessee Department of Transportation reported the two left lanes and left shoulder were closed as crews worked to clear the scene.
Officers said several people were injured, but no one was taken to the hospital.
