ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 21-year-old faces a slew of felony charges for his connection to a drug-related shooting at an Antioch apartment complex, which left a woman suffering from “serious bodily injury,” officials said.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said the incident happened at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Brentridge Circle on Jan. 31.
According to officials, 21-year-old Yanathan Furline went to the apartment complex to buy marijuana from a 23-year-old woman.
At some point during the interaction, Furline reportedly pointed a gun at the woman and shot her. Police added the shooting endangered others within the highly populated apartment complex.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound to her thigh and has since recovered, according to MNPD.
During an investigation, officers said they learned that Furline planned to sell the stolen marijuana.
Furline was charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated robbery, gun possession during the commission of a felony, felony drug possession and reckless endangerment.
Booking records show he is being held in Metro Jail on a $250,000 bond.
