NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman accused of organized retail crime has been arrested seven months after Metro police announced she was wanted on multiple outstanding theft warrants.
According to court documents, Melissa Mayes, 25, was arrested by Metro police Monday.
News 2 previously reported in 2024 she was wanted by the MNPD alongside her sister, Myiesha Mayes, for stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from retail stores across Nashville. Since then, more charges have been added.
In several theft reports, Mayes was identified alongside Orlexus Elliott, who was arrested in January for 22 shoplifting charges dating back to 2023.
According to court documents, the women are accused of carrying out thefts together as there are some overlapping charges between the three. On multiple occasions, Mayes and the other women were identified after posting photos of stolen merchandise on social media after the thefts.
Mayes is charged with the following incidents:

- May 13, 2024: Opry Mills Mall, Sephora $3,951
- May 24, 2024: The Mall at Green Hills, stealing $1,985 in perfume from Gus Mayer
- May 25, 2025: Downtown Nashville, Sephora $2,626
- July 4, 2024: Opry Mills Mall, Sephora $4,982
- June 28, 2024: Downtown Nashville, Sephora $2,584
- July 18, 2024: Downtown Nashville, Sephora $4,119
- Dec. 2, 2024: Nashville West Shopping Center, Marshall’s $687
- Dec. 14, 2024: Gulch Lululemon $886
- Jan 1, 2025: One Bellevue Place, $1,815 in curling irons and perfume from Ulta Beauty
- Jan 2, 2025: Nashville West Shopping Center, Stealing 14 pairs of Prada brand sunglasses valued at $5,400 from LensCrafters after Elliott made an appointment under a false name.
- Jan. 12, 2025: The Mall at Green Hills, Sunglass Hut $8,633
- Jan. 12, 2025: Nashville West Shopping Center, stealing $5,433 in designer glasses from LensCrafters.
- Feb. 3, 2025: White Bridge Walgreens $200
After the Walgreens shoplifting incident Monday, officers tracked the vehicle that Mayes fled in to a different location, where she was arrested after committing another shoplifting, reports said.
She faces several charges spanning 18 counts, including felony theft of merchandise and felony organized retail crime. According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office records, she is booked into Metro Jail on a $115,500 bond.
