MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman who’s been wanted in East Tennessee for more than two years was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon as a result of a Middle Tennessee traffic stop, officials said.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD), the 37-year-old Kingsport woman was stopped for failing to maintain her lane on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Even though the driver initially provided a fake name, further investigation revealed her true identity.
Authorities confirmed the woman had been wanted since January 2023 in Sullivan County for failing to appear on multiple drug-related offenses, including possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, possession of a firearm while in possession of meth, and driving while in possession of meth.
In addition, officials said the woman had “non-prescribed Schedule II pills” in her possession.
“Thanks to the vigilance of our proactive officers, another wanted individual is off the streets, helping to keep our community safe!” the MJPD posted on social media.
No additional details were released about Wednesday’s incident, including the name of the woman who was arrested.
