NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Areas across Middle Tennessee saw damage as strong winds and heavy rain passed through mid-state.

Preliminary damage reports from the National Weather Service Nashville indicated many trees down in Lawrence County including Summertown, Ethridge and St. Joseph. Some of those trees took powerlines down with them, the NWS added.
Wind gusts of up to 59 miles per hour were reported in both Nashville and Crossville Tuesday. Columbia saw peak wind gusts of 45 miles per hour.


The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure said in a social media post Tuesday night that there were “many reports” of trees blocking roadways across the city due to weather conditions. NDOT encouraged residents to report damage to hubNashville or call 311. Opry Mills Mall, along with hundreds of Nashville Electric Service customers, were without power.
Cookeville mayor Laurin Wheaton posted to Facebook, stating the city experienced multiple power outages and tree limbs blocked several roads. Cookeville was tied with Columbia for the fastest wind gust Tuesday at 45 miles per hour.
