NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen in just minutes from a DJ’s truck.
Carlos Morales, also known as DJ Ax, said both his most prized possessions and his livelihood were stolen from him.
“It was a lot of stuff,” Morales said. “They hit a gold mine with that one.”
After working a gig near Broadway on Saturday, Morales stopped by a lounge in Antioch to pick up his wife.
“When I came out, my window was broken and everything was just gone,” Morales said.
While inside for a few minutes, he said someone broke into his truck and got away with nearly $10,000 worth of his equipment.
“It was my laptop, all my music, all my cables, all my charges,” Morales said. “I also do video work; I had a Sony camera, a couple lenses in there — a drone and a 360 [degree] camera.”
The signs in the parking lot of the lounge said there are working cameras in the area, but Morales hadn’t seen the video. He added that he hopes the Metro Nashville Police Department will investigate.
“It just sucks when you work so hard for something and then somebody just comes and takes it away from you,” Morales said. “That’s a lot of hard work.”
Morales encouraged anyone who saw anything to call the MNPD.
