What is an AMBER Alert?
According to the TBI, AMBER Alerts are reserved for the most serious of missing children cases, in which law enforcement believes that a child is in imminent danger.
AMBER is stands for America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response. The alert was created in remembrance of Amber Hagerman, a nine-year-old girl who was kidnapped and murdered in Arlington, Texas in 1996.
The TBI said the following criteria must be met in order to issue an AMBER Alert:
- The person is 17 years of age or younger
- The child is in imminent danger of bodily injury or death
- There is a description of the child, the abductor, or vehicle
- On a request from another state for activation, there is a direct and identified nexus to the state of Tennessee and that information is conveyed to TBI at the time of the request.

Zaylee Grace Fryer

The Millersville Police Department believes Zaylee Grace Fryar was 4 months old when she and her mother, Shauna, went missing from their Millersville home on May 1, 2011. Shauna’s husband, Michael, reported the mother and daughter duo as missing two to three days after their disappearance, officials said.
On May 7, 2011, Shauna’s body was found in the Cumberland River near the Cowan Street bridge in Nashville. Police said they believe she was dead before her body was ever in the river.
Nearly fourteen years later, the search continues for Zaylee. Millersville detectives previously told News 2 that Shauna’s husband, who was not the father of Zaylee, was their main suspect. Michael was interviewed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) after Shauna’s body was found; however, he has since passed away.
Detectives are continuing to search for answers in the case. If Baby Zaylee is still out there, detectives have preserved part of Shauna’s liver so they could get a DNA hit with just a simple cheek swab. At the time of her disappearance, Zaylee weighed approximately 12 pounds and had black hair with brown eyes.
Gage Daniel and Chloie Leverett

Then 9-year-old Chloie Leverette and then 7-year-old Gage Daniel were living with their grandparents, Mollie and Leon “Bubba” McClaran, when their home in Bedford County caught fire on Sept. 23, 2012.
The children were initially believed to have died in the blaze with their grandparents, but investigators never found any signs that they were inside the home. The TBI then issued an AMBER Alert for the siblings.
Although officials never determined the cause of the fire, the siblings’ mother, Cheryl, told News 2 she believes it was set on purpose and her children were kidnapped.
More than 12 years later, Chloie and Gage are still missing. Chloie reportedly had brown hair, blues eyes and weighed about 75 pounds at the time of her disappearance. Meanwhile, Gage had brown hair and hazel eyes and weighed about 50 pounds.
Eva Alejandra Lopez

It’s been almost a decade since anyone has seen Eva Alejandra Lopez. She was just 15 years old when she went missing from her home in Winchester on Sept. 22, 2015.
When the TBI first issued an Endangered Child Alert for the teen she was labeled as a “runaway.” Authorities believe she may have been with 25-year-old Avaro Gamez Martinez when she left home that day.
Martinez was reportedly wanted on six counts of aggravated statutory rape. It remains unclear where the two may have been heading, but some reports indicated that they could have traveled to Mexico.
At the time of her disappearance, Eva was about 5’4″, weighed about 150 pounds, and had green eyes and brown hair. It is unclear what kind of clothing she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
Summer Wells

On June 15, 2021, 5-year-old Summer Wells went missing from her home in Hawkins County, Tennessee. Summer’s mother and grandmother said she was planting flowers with them shortly before she was last seen.
Summer’s father, Don, previously spoke with reporters, stating he believes his daughter may have been kidnapped. In 2021, the TBI reiterated that circumstances leading to her disappearance remain unclear and it may be possible that the then 5-year-old wandered off.
Despite being one of the most “exhaustive and involved missing child cases” the TBI has ever investigated, Summer remains missing. She was last seen wearing grey pants, a pink shirt and was possibly barefoot.
At the time of her disappearance, Summer had blonde hair, blue eyes and weighed about 40 pounds.
Kennedy Hoyle

Memphis police reported Kennedy Hoyle missing after her mother, Danielle Hoyle, 27, was found shot to death near an abandoned vehicle on Feb. 1, 2022. An AMBER Alert was later issued on Kennedy’s behalf.
During questioning, Kennedy’s father—identified as Brandon Isabelle— allegedly admitted to shooting Danielle after luring her to the intersection of Sedgwick and Levi. He told police he then drove his 2-day-old daughter to the north end of Mud Island and threw her in the water.
Police said the infant’s car seat was found near a dumpster outside of a Walmart, but her remains have not been recovered.
Her father was later charged with murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, murder in connection with kidnapping and tampering with evidence.
Kennedy was last seen wearing a black and white polka dot onesie with pink pants.
Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers

It’s been exactly a year since 15-year-old Sebastian Rogers disappeared from his home in the Beech area of Hendersonville. The case sparked a massive search in Sumner County that stretched thousands of miles.
The TBI issued an Endangered Child Alert for the teen on Feb. 26, 2024, which was later upgraded to an AMBER Alert the following day. After days of intensive efforts, authorities announced that they would “scale back” the ground search and transition to an investigation.
A year later, there are still no signs of Sebastian Rogers. His father spoke with News 2 on Dec. 7, 2024, Sebastian’s 16th birthday, saying law enforcement has given him renewed hope that his son may be found one day.
The reward to find Sebastian increased to $200,000 in November, but on Dec. 21, Duane Chapman—better known as “Dog the Bounty Hunter”— announced that the reward was up to $250,000.
