JACKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A suspect has been taken into custody after a man was found dead in a vehicle following a stabbing in Jackson County.
Special agents with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) said they began investigating an incident Wednesday evening in the 700 block of Red Boiling Springs Highway, where they reportedly found 39-year-old Billie Ralph Harper III dead inside a vehicle.

During the investigation, agents said they determined that 38-year-old Dustin Hix, of Macon County, stabbed Harper in Jackson County and then drove the victim to Clay County, which is where he was found deceased.
Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reportedly worked with the TBI to arrest Hix for his connection to the deadly stabbing.
Hix was charged with first degree murder and booked into the Jackson County Jail.
