TROUSDALE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Video posted to social media by the Trousdale County Sheriff’s Department showed a high-speed chase Thursday that led to an arrest.
The sheriff’s department posted a video featuring part of the pursuit on Facebook, saying that deputies with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office informed them of a ongoing pursuit involving a silver Nissan Murano around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2. The Murano had last been seen on Highway 231 near the county line.
A Trousdale County deputy saw the vehicle as it turned east on Highway 25. Officials said the Nissan “continued to flee recklessly towards Hartsville,” with the video showing the car speeding down the road and swerving around other vehicles.
Authorities deployed spikes to slow the Nissan down and ultimately intercept it. In the video, you can see the driver jump out of the vehicle before running out of the frame and being followed by law enforcement.
An investigation revealed the Nissan Murano had been reported stolen out of Nashville. The driver, who is from Memphis, was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit near the city limits, according to the sheriff’s department. The driver faces multiple charges and is pending a hearing in General Sessions Court.
