Middle Tennessee should brace for a winter storm on Friday, with difficult travel conditions. That’s the latest message from the National Weather Service.
As of Wednesday morning, forecasters say they have increasing confidence that the region will see 4 to 7 inches of snow, with some pockets seeing even more.
Snow should fall late Friday morning through the evening. Travel impacts are expected to continue into the weekend, and cold temperatures will slow any melting for several days.
The weather service notes it does not expect much in the way of rain or sleet, calling this a “snow event.”
A winter storm watch will be in place for the entire region, as well as parts of neighboring states, starting Friday morning.
