SMYRNA, Tenn. (WKRN) — One beloved Smyrna eatery has shared some big news to kick off the new year: they’ll be reopening just a month after a car crashed into the business.
On Nov. 26, a car crashed into Karin’s Kustard & Hamburgers. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident, but Karin’s did have to temporarily close down to make repairs and make sure that the building did not suffer any severe structural damage.
“We are very well-known in the community and the community supports us very well,” restaurant owner Karin Dyer told News 2 after the crash. “I’m very thankful and grateful for what I do for the community and what they do for us.”
In a Facebook post Tuesday, though, the establishment told patrons the grand reopening would take place on Friday, Jan. 3. The restaurant will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.
“We are so beyond thankful for the outpouring of love and support from our community! We thank you all so much!” the post reads, in part. “God is so incredibly good and we ultimately want to thank Him! We are so blessed and we cannot wait to serve y’all soon!”
The restaurant thanked several area businesses for helping with the repair and reopening process.
