WHITE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Multiple fire agencies responded to a structure fire that claimed one person’s life
The White County Firefighters Association posted to Facebook that several fire departments received a call about a structure fire in the 200 block of Countryside Drive off Monterey Highway at about 12:51 p.m. Monday. An occupant was trapped inside.
Cherry Creek, Bondecroft and Eastland Fire Departments responded, but a countywide assignment was quickly requested for more engines, tankers and manpower. As agencies worked to extinguish the fire, crews located the deceased person inside. Crews remained on the scene until 5:15 p.m.
“We are so thankful for our professional volunteers that are willing to serve others,” Doyle Fore Chief Jason Sparks said, according to the Facebook post.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the White County Sheriff’s Office also responded and are handling an investigation into the structure fire.
