NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A violent robbery in Davidson County is the latest charge against a man accused of committing similar crimes in Nashville over the past few years.
Kenya Lewis, 50, was taken into custody on Jan. 7 after he was identified in a police lineup.
According to court documents, the robbery took place on Dec. 11, 2024, after Lewis and a woman had a disagreement regarding property. Lewis reportedly pulled out a gun and hit the woman over the head before telling her, “Take all your stuff off,” reports said. He then reportedly took the woman’s cell phone, coat and a backpack containing other items.
Authorities said the victim sustained severe lacerations to her head after the incident.
Weeks later, on Dec. 30, 2024, the victim positively identified Lewis in a photo lineup coordinated by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Documents from the MNPD indicated that officers recognized Lewis for his involvement in other crimes. News 2 previously reported on additional robberies Lewis is accused of carrying out, including a daytime robbery in Centennial Park in July 2024 and the robbery of a woman as she walked home in the West End area in 2021.
According to Davidson County Sheriff’s Office records, Lewis was arrested for the December incident on Jan. 7 and charged with aggravated robbery. He is currently detained on a $150,000 bond.
