NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The month of March will start with a bang as the potential of strong to severe storms returns to the forecast next week. There is still a lot of uncertainties regarding this severe risk, but we want you to be prepared for the threats.
For Tuesday 6 a.m. to Wednesday 6 a.m., the Storm Prediction Center has most of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky in the 15% risk for severe storms, and there is a 30% risk for our western Middle Tennessee counties near the Tennessee River.

The current timeframe for severe weather will be from 6 p.m. Tuesday to about 9 a.m. Wednesday. Future Tracker shows area showers and storms possible during the day hours, with the best chance of widespread rain and storms to increase Tuesday evening through early Wednesday morning.
The primary two storm threats will be heavy rain and strong wind gusts. Tornadoes and hail are possible, but lower at this time. As we get more model data, a better look at the threats will be defined.
