NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are investigating a shooting involving a Metro police officer and a man linked to a stolen vehicle investigation in Madison overnight.
Just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to Cumberland Crossing Apartments on Rio Vista Drive to investigate a vehicle that was stolen Sunday during a carjacking on Cheyenne Boulevard.
According to Metro police, an armed 20-year-old man exited the stolen sedan and was confronted by two detectives.
In body camera footage from the incident, officers can be seen chasing the man as he runs up the complex stairs before they opened fire. The man fell to the ground after about four shots were fired.
Officials said the 20-year-old was transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment. No additional information on his condition was immediately shared.
