NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A motorcyclist died after being involved in a crash with another vehicle on Murfreesboro Pike Monday afternoon.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), 49-year-old Charles Cromwell was riding a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle at around 2:20 p.m. A preliminary investigation indicated a Buick Envision was traveling inbound on Murfreesboro Pike when it started to make a left turn before being struck by Cromwell.
Cromwell was separated from his motorcycle and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment, but he died from his injuries.
The 71-year-old driver of the Buick Envision went to a nearby gas station parking lot and struck a light pole. That driver was also taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The MNPD said there were no signs of impairment on the part of either driver.
