NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — It has undoubtedly been a volatile and cold start to 2025! The coldest air of the season will be impacting our region for the third full week of January.
The Climate Prediction Center’s 6 to 10 day temperature outlook shows a guarantee of below-average temperatures for most of the country, especially Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. As we specifically eye Monday, January 20 to Wednesday, January 22, high temperatures are likely to stay in the 20s and/or teens with early morning lows in the 10s to single digits!
Precipitation chances
The precipitation outlook does not indicate significant wintry weather chances. The only timeframe where wintry weather is possible is Sunday, January 19. At this time, this looks to be scattered snow showers with little accumulation (at most 1 inch for the Plateau).
This type of cold will likely have impacts on everyone. Make sure you have access to adequate heat and avoid time outside in the bitter cold temperatures.
News 2 Meteorologists will provide more updates as we get closer to the event, with more specific county temperatures.
