NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) announced Tuesday they were investigating a teen for potential involvement in recent vehicle break-ins.
Detectives with the MNPD’s Violent Crimes division said they found a stolen Ford F-150 pickup truck at an East Nashville apartment complex Monday. The pickup truck had reportedly been stolen out of Berry Hill Sunday. A 16-year-old boy got into the truck and started driving, but before officers could stop him, he abandoned the Ford and fled on foot. Officers took him into custody following the foot pursuit.
The MNPD said the teen was charged with both vehicle theft and evading arrest in juvenile court. Authorities added other teens had been standing near the Ford when the 16-year-old drove off; they are investigating a potential involvement in other vehicle break-ins.
