NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) announced that a 16-year-old will face a criminally negligent homicide charge in connection with a deadly September 2024 shooting.
News 2 previously reported that 15-year-old Bentley Delancy was visiting a British Woods Drive home when the 16-year-old when the two allegedly began “playing with a pistol.” The gun discharged, hitting Delancy in the neck. Days later, he died.
An ongoing investigation by the MNPD, which included an analysis of the medical examiner’s findings, revealed Delancy’s hand was not on the gun when it was fired. The 16-year-old was charged in juvenile court.
