NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has been released on bond just hours after he allegedly fled from detectives during a traffic stop in the Bellshire area, officials said.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said the incident occurred Thursday night after detectives observed 35-year-old Terron Reeves driving his Honda Accord at speeds of up to 100 mph along I-24 West near Harding Place.
At some point, authorities conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Westchester and Brookway Drive. However, instead of stopping, Reeves reportedly fled the stop at a high rate of speed, went into oncoming traffic, and drove toward a MNPD detective’s vehicle.
Police said the detective had to drive off the roadway in order to avoid a head-on collision with the Honda.

After fleeing from authorities, Reeves reportedly parked the Honda in a garage on 11th Avenue North, where he then attempted to run before he was taken into custody.
According to the MNPD, marijuana, amphetamine pills and a digital scale were all recovered at the scene. In addition, another bag of marijuana was allegedly found inside Reeves’ pocket at the Downtown Detention Center.
Reeves was charged with felony and misdemeanor evading arrest, contraband in a penal institution, marijuana possession, drug possession without a prescription, evidence tampering, and drug paraphernalia.
Officials reported the 35-year-old has previous robbery, drug and weapon convictions.
Booking records show he was released from Metro Jail on a $18,500 bond approximately three hours after being taken into custody.
