NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two arrests were made overnight after cash, guns, and drugs were all found in a stolen vehicle that fled from law enforcement, officials said.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said detectives were assisting South Precinct officers in the search for a stolen 2020 Jaguar XE, which reportedly fled from police earlier during a traffic stop.
Authorities said the Jaguar sedan was later spotted on Bell Road near the Smith Springs Road intersection. A police helicopter reportedly followed the sedan to Crossings Boulevard, where two men ran away from the scene.
The driver —identified as 19-year-old Jaden Wooden— and his passenger — identified as 29-year-old Jerell Bailey — were taken into custody a short time later.
According to police, Wooden had a gun in his pocket and a second gun was found in his backpack, which also contained meth, cocaine, marijuana and schedule II and V drugs.
In addition, detectives said they recovered prescription pill bottles with another persons name, a bottle of Promethazine and two window punches from the stolen vehicle.
Wooden reportedly had outstanding warrants in Brentwood for fleeing from police in a vehicle. For this incident, he was charged with felony drug possession, theft of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, reckless driving, possession of burglary tools, and two counts of gun possession during the commission of a felony. He is being held in Metro Jail on a $138,000 bond.
Meanwhile, Bailey —who is a convicted felon for previous drug offenses— was charged with vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools, evading arrest, and felony drug possession. He remains in Metro Jail on a $82,500 bond.
