NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) Canine Unit is wishing a happy retirement to a very “good boy.”
Metro police announced the retirement of one of their K-9s, Nash. Nash has been with the department since 2017, according to police.

Nash and his handler, Officer Braden Gant, have been a team for Nash’s entire tenure with the MNPD Canine Unit. During his time with the team, Nash has served as an apprehension dog, a certified narcotic detection K-9, and is one of the first K-9 pairs to be integrated with the Metro SWAT team.
But Nash’s favorite job was being Officer Gant’s partner and best friend, MNPD said.
“He gets to spend the rest of his days with his bestie and family, while shamelessly barking at every car that drives by their house,” MNPD said in a social media post announcing Nash’s retirement.
“Thank you to K-9 Nash for serving the city of Nashville!” MNPD added.
