NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Public Health Department announced Wednesday it has issued a SPIKE Alert after an increase in overdoses in Davidson County.
The department reported the rise in overdoses has been detected over the past three days, essentially since March 2, 2025.
The increase in overdoses has been detected broadly across Nashville, with the health department’s mapping technology showing overdoses occurring all over town, according to a release.
Nashvillians are urged to check on loved ones, asked to not use alone and to call 911 in case of a possible overdose. Fentanyl test strips and Narcan are also recommended. Narcan is available for free of charge at the health department’s pharmacy or its preventive health clinics.
