CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) — A man was shot by officers during a domestic disturbance at a home in Crofton, Kentucky early Sunday morning.
Deputies were called to a home on Clark Store Sinking Fork Road just after midnight after receiving reports of a man who assaulted someone, tried to set the home on fire and discharged a weapon, according to a press release.
Once deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim and tried to speak with the suspect, who remained inside the home. As deputies spoke with the man, he reportedly fired multiple rounds at them.
Deputies continued to try and de-escalate the situation as the suspect exited the residence and opened fire on the deputies, according to a release.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reported deputies then returned fire, striking the suspect. WKDZ radio reported the man died from his injuries.
No deputies were injured during the incident.
