NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A convicted felon was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with a shooting along Delta Avenue that left a man injured back in October, according to Nashville officials.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said 43-year-old Tarell Lewis was involved in an argument with the 32-year-old victim’s girlfriend, so the victim tried to intervene. Then, Lewis allegedly started shooting at them from his vehicle before he fled the scene.
Authorities said the victim was shot in the ankle and his girlfriend took him to Nashville General Hospital.
Detectives found Lewis on Wednesday, Jan. 15 and reportedly saw him making drug deals with multiple people. During his arrest, police said they recovered marijuana from Lewis’ vehicle and pockets.
According to law enforcement, Lewis was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, felony drug possession, and possession of a weapon as a felon. He is being held in the Downtown Detention Center on a $157,500 bond.
