NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly shot another man inside a South Nashville apartment following a dispute over drugs last month.
Davidson County Sheriff’s Office records state Keontis Jenkins, 28, was booked into Metro jail on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
According to court records, the shooting occurred on Dec. 23, 2024, just before 8 p.m. at a “populated apartment complex” in the 600 block of Whispering Hills Drive.
Jenkins and another man reportedly engaged in an argument over the price of drugs before Jenkins pulled out a pistol and shot the man twice in the leg. The victim fell to the ground, and Jenkins shot at him again but missed.
During a police investigation, Jenkins was identified by the victim in a photo lineup.
According to Metro police, Jenkins is a convicted felon in Madison County. In Nashville, he is charged with the following:
- Attempted criminal homicide- Felony
- Reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon- Felony
- Felon in possession of a handgun- Felony
- Employing a firearm with intent- Felony
He is detained in Metro jail on a $115,000.
