PULASKI, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man is in custody after allegedly setting a house on fire during a barricade situation in Pulaski late Friday night, officials said.
According to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, Friday night, a man accused of carjacking a vehicle barricaded himself inside a house along with two other people.
Officers reportedly believed the man to be armed, and a several hourslong barricade situation ensued.
Pulaski Police Department officers, Giles County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Tennessee Highway Patrol negotiators worked to secure the scene and diffuse the situation, reports said.
During negotiations, the man reportedly started a fire in the house and ran outside, where he was quickly apprehended by GCSO deputies and arrested. The two additional people inside the house escaped safely before the fire, officials said. No injuries were reported during the incident.
TDSHS said the suspect is a convicted felon, however, no additional information on his identity or charges was immediately released.
