MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) β A man is in custody following a foot pursuit at a Mt. Juliet bank, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department posted on social media about officers responding to an incident at a bank in the Providence MarketPlace area just before 4 p.m. Minutes later, authorities said a suspect had been apprehended in relation to the incident.
Mt. Juliet police said a preliminary investigation found a man went into the bank and was “acting suspicious.” The man reportedly tried to cash a fraudulent check. However, a staff member at the bank activated the panic alarm.
Officer arrived on scene to find the man running away from the bank, but he “was quickly apprehended.” Medics attended to the man “due to taser use,” Mt. Juliet authorities added.
An additional investigation revealed another suspect was involved. The second suspect is outstanding and “could still be in the Providence MarketPlace area,” Mt. Juliet police said.
