HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hardin County firefighters acted quickly to perform a rescue after a hunter duo, consisting of a 9-year-old and an adult, contacted emergency services to report that they had become lost in the woods on Friday night.
According to the Hardin County Fire Department (HCFD), a hunter called emergency services just after 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 to report that they were lost in the Walker Branch Wildlife Management Area. However, before first responders could arrive and locate them, the hunters’ cell phone battery died.

Crews with the HCFD responded to Diamond Island Drive in the Wildlife Management Area and launched two thermal imaging drones into the airspace over the woods.
The hunters were reportedly located within five minutes and were guided to the main road, according to the HCFD. Officials said both the adult and 9-year-old were uninjured.
