NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — As temperatures dip down below freezing later this week, and with anticipated snow and ice in the area, multiple cities in Middle Tennessee have opened up warming or cold weather shelters for those in need.
Here are were some warming shelters are located in Middle Tennessee.
Davidson County
Nashville Rescue Mission (all welcome)
- 639 Lafayette St., Nashville, 37203

Room in the Inn (men only)
- 705 Drexel St., 37203
- Open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information call 615-251-7019.
Oasis Center/Launch Pad (youth shelter for ages 18-24)
- Apply by emailing [email protected] or visiting this link online and checking availability from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day.
- Shelter hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Located in Connection UMC in Donelson Sunday through Wednesday; Cavalry UMC in Green Hills Thursday and Saturday; and Donelson Heights UMC on Friday.
- No animals unless they are documented service animals. For additional help call Oasis Center’s 24-hour youth crisis line at 615-327-4455.
Metro Overflow Homeless Shelter
- 3230 Brick Church Pike, 37297
- Hot meals and snacks available.
- Single adults, couples, young adults, registry participants and pet owners accepted. No children allowed.
- Mats and cots are provided.
- Dogs are allowed, with kennels provided. Pets must be kenneled during transport.
- Operational hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. when activated. Activation criteria are a 32-degree temperature threshold, announced at 9 a.m. daily.
- Parking is available at the shelter, and the WeGo Line #23B from WeGo Central (400 Dr. MLK Blvd) will provide service for free after 7 p.m. A return bus pass will be provided as well.
Robertson County
My Father’s House Mission

The cold weather shelter operates from November through February and houses the local homeless community during the winter months. Location is immediately behind Southside Drug Store.
Montgomery County
Clarksville Area Urban Ministries Warming Center at Madison Street United Methodist Church
- 300 Commerce St., Clarksville, TN
City buses will take anyone going to the shelter there for free regardless of if they have a bus pass. Shelter expected to be open every night in January and into February if extended forecast stands.
Maury County
Starting Tuesday, Jan. 7, through Saturday, Jan. 11, those needing shelter can seek temporary shelter at either First United Methodist Church or West 7th Church of Christ.
First United Methodist Church

Sumner County
Due to the cold temperatures, an Emergency Overnight Warming Shelter will open at the Portland Police Department.

Rutherford County
Coldest Nights emergency shelters are operational in Murfreesboro. Announcements are made each day on the Murfreesboro Cold Patrol Facebook page. Dinner location changes daily, but shelter doors open at 7 p.m.

Coffee County

- For the week of Jan. 5-11, the cold weather shelter is located at Trinity Lutheran Church, 705 Wilson Ave., Tullahoma, 37388
- Starting Jan. 12-18, the shelter will be at Cedar Lane Church of Christ, 1200 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, 37388
- Jan. 19-25: First Presbyterian Church, 204 E. Grundy St., Tullahoma, 37388
The shelter will operate through March 1. Shelter hours are 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each day. Those needing shelter can arrive any time between 8-9 p.m.
