PARIS, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Paris Police Department has opened an investigation following a deadly pedestrian crash Monday morning.
Paris police said a Henry County woman was crossing the road at a marked, lighted crosswalk at the south end of Hospital Circle near Henry County Medical Center when she was struck by a van. She was taken to the emergency room at Henry County Medical Center as soon as possible.
Though first responders tried to transport her via helicopter to a trauma center, she was ultimately pronounced dead. Paris authorities said they were reviewing the evidence and investigating the crash.
The identity of the woman was not immediately released. Paris police said updates would be provided as they become available.
