NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A family is hopeful for answers after the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) released photos of three people wanted in connection with their father’s murder.
Clarence Roach Sr. has been missed by so many loved ones, including by his daughter Clarice Roach.
“It would be not a day that went by that we didn’t see each other,” Clarice said. “Sunday dinners, church on Sundays, Bible studies.”
Clarice told News 2 he had stopped at a store on the way to a friend’s funeral, but he never made it.
“He was going to his friend’s funeral to be the honorary pallbearer and the wife had called to let us know that he did not make it to the funeral,” Clarice said. “That’s when the red flags popped up.”
Investigators said Clarence was shot in the parking lot and in broad daylight. He made it to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was released, but he died a month later from complications.
“He was a fighter,” Clarice added. “He was a soldier and he fought really hard to be able to come home to be able to say his last goodbyes to his wife of 44 years and his grandkids and us.”
No one has been arrested in connection with Clarence’s death. However, the MNPD released surveillance photos of individuals wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting.
Three people were seen inside the store at the time of the shooting and got into the suspect’s dark-colored sedan.
“Didn’t get a car, didn’t get any money, didn’t get anything, but you shot and killed him,” Clarice said.
Anyone with information about the identities of the people in the photographs, the sedan or the shooter has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at (615) 742-7463.
“Y’all have hurt our family tremendously,” Clarice said. “It’s been seven months that we have not had our father — seven months without answers. You stole his life; you stole a piece of our heart when y’all took him.”
