WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Animal control officers with the Williamson County Animal Center responded to an “urgent” rescue mission after a dog became trapped inside a Thompson’s Station storm drain.
The dog, named Ona, had become trapped 30 feet inside a storm drain Monday, according to a Facebook post from the Williamson County Animal Center. When animal control officers arrived, they heard Ona barking and scratching deep within the storm drain.
Nearby construction workers and Ona’s owner had tried to help, but they weren’t able to reach her. An animal control officer crawled into the storm drain and — after some maneuvering, was able to safely pull Ona to safety.
After about three hours of being stuck in the drain, Ona was reunited with her owner.
