NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — From a disco ball, karaoke machine, and iPad, hundreds of dollars worth of items were recently stolen from a Nashville rideshare driver’s vehicle.
The driver told News 2 the break-in has impacted her business on one of the busiest nights for rideshare drivers.
Those who step into Alaina Abdol-Saters’s rideshare are immediately met with plenty of entertainment.
“I started off with the candy,” Abdol-Sater told News 2. “It spiraled out to karaoke, then a tablet for people to play their own music.”
Abdol-Sater said she hopes to bring her customers pure joy.
“It’s a true happiness when you see people just overjoyed when I pull up and they see the tiaras in the dashboard, and they get in the car and they see the candy and they’re screaming,” she described.
However, on Dec. 30, thieves broke into her car and stole everything. According to Adbol-Sater, the crime costed her hundreds of dollars and will impact her business on New Year’s Eve, which is one of the busiest nights for rideshare drivers.
Over the weekend, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) reported multiple car break-ins across East Nashville. In fact, residents on Russell Street told News 2 there were about a dozen break-ins on their street alone.
As a result, the police department is reminding drivers to remove guns and all valuables from their vehicles.
“I’m going to have to dissemble everything every night and take in my dashcam and take in my tablet,” explained Abdol-Sater.

Abdol-Sater said she was able to repurchase and fast-ship many of the items for her customers. She added her job brings her the most joy, despite thieves trying to steal it.
“They invest in me by ordering Uber and Lyft, so I invest back into my customers,” she said. “The more happiness I saw in my customers, the more I wanted to do in my car, because my grandma always said, ‘if you aren’t happy, go make others happy.”
