PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two days after being released from jail, a Jackson County man was found dead in Putnam County, according to authorities.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said it got a call shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26 from a property owner on Rodgers Cemetery Road, off Bryant Road in the Baxter area. The caller told law enforcement they were driving around their property when they noticed what appeared to be a human body lying in a field.

Deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the caller’s suspicions. A short time later, officials said they identified the body as 53-year-old James Russell Solomon, who had been released from Jackson County Jail on Monday, Feb. 24 for an aggravated domestic assault charge.
According to authorities, the sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigation Division is looking into the circumstances that led to Solomon’s death. Meanwhile, his body has been sent for an autopsy.
