SMYNRA, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities are responding to a barricade situation after shots were fired in a Smyrna neighborhood on Thursday morning.
A spokesperson with the Smyrna Police Department said officers and SWAT were sent to the area of Avery Park Drive at approximately 10 a.m. to respond to a “shots fired” call.

There have been no injuries reported, officials added. However, a suspect has barricaded themselves inside a home along Avery Park Drive.
At about 3:30 p.m., Smyrna police posted to Facebook that because of police activity on Old Nashville Highway, all southbound traffic has been diverted to Stewart Valley Drive and to Baker Road. Drivers can make a left to get back on Old Nashville Highway at Baker Road.
