NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Opry Mills Mall lost power and had to resort to backup generators Tuesday night.
Security with the mall told News 2 that due to the outage, backup generators have kicked in. However, parking lots surrounding the mall are still “pitch black.” Though the cause of the outage is under investigation, as of publication, it’s believed to be due to high winds and rain.
Some doors to the mall are functional, but many doors are not working. Security added the mall plans to close at its standard time: 8 p.m.
Additionally, some street lights and traffic lights on and around Briley Parkway appear to have lost power as well.
As of publication, Nashville Electric Service reported more than 170 active events and just over 2,250 customers without power.
