NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police have arrested a man in connection with a 2024 murder of a California rapper.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Amir Carroll, 19, was involved in the robbery-related murder of Christopher Cheeks, 32, outside a music studio on Hayes Street. Cheeks was also known by his stage name Chris King.
Carroll is a known associate of Adrian L. Cameron Jr., who remains outstanding. Carroll was found to have been with Cameron at the scene during the gunfire that killed Cheeks and injured Cheeks’ 29-year-old friend.
According to MNPD, Carroll was taken into custody on East Thompson Lane on Wednesday, Feb. 26, on 11 grand jury indictments related to the homicide case, including first-degree premeditated murder, especially aggravated robbery and felony weapon possession among other charges.
Carroll remains jailed on a $250,000 bond, according to police.
A frequent feature on the MNPD’s “Most Wanted” fugitives list, Cameron, now 20, has 12 outstanding grand jury indictments related to the murder. He was out on bond at the time for the September 2021 murder of Josh Evans. He has been on the run since last April.
