Players on their radar include the Miami Hurricanes’ quarterback Cam Ward and the Colorado Buffaloes’ Shedeur Sanders. Titans head coach Brian Callahan and general manager Mike Borgonzi have a checklist to see if a player is the right fit.ย
“Scouting quarterbacks is not an exact science,” Callahan said. “You can see over the years that there’s been really quality players that you think had it that maybe didn’t show up when it actually came time. Then there’s ones that you weren’t sure if they did and they show up and they play well. Those are things we have to do our due diligence on and make sure that we’re trying to unturn all the stones from the tape, from the person, from the workouts.”

“If we deem taking a quarterback is the most important thing right now, then we’ll do that, but we have to go through this proccess here,” Borgonzi said. “This is one touchpoint in the process. We’ve gone through the whole evaluation part. Now, we finally get to sit down and meet with these guys and talk with them. We’ll have pro days. We’ll have 30-day visits. We’ll have to go through the whole process to make that decision.”
Sanders is not expected to throw this week, but Ward has not been ruled out.
