LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) — Lebanon law enforcement announced Sunday that multiple minors may face charges after allegedly burglarizing unlocked vehicles.
According to the Lebanon Police Department, officers recently responded to the Westlynn Drive neighborhood after someone called about a group of people in dark clothing pulling on car door handles. Authorities quickly arrived in the area and found individuals matching that description.
Following a thorough investigation, police said they determined all the people involved were juveniles “targeting unlocked vehicles in search of vapes.”
According to officials, the minors were released to their guardians, but they could face charges pending the outcome of the case.
The department posted the following picture on Facebook on Sunday, Feb. 23 as a reminder about the importance of locking your vehicles:

“We appreciate the officers for a swift and diligent response, but this could have been avoided. PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOCK YOUR DOORS,” police wrote in the post. “Leaving electronics, firearms, vapes, or tobacco products in an unlocked vehicle makes you an easy target for theft.”
No additional details have been released about this incident.
