NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Investigators are searching for a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run incident that seriously injured a pedestrian Saturday evening near the Melrose neighborhood.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, around 6:40 p.m., a 40-year-old man parked his car in the 2200 block of 8th Avenue South, on the eastbound side of the road, and attempted to cross the street. While crossing, he was struck by a red SUV driving northbound and fell onto the road before being hit by a second vehicle. Officials announced Sunday he was in critical condition.
Authorities said the SUV driver left the scene after striking the man. However, the driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene until officers arrived.
MNPD shared footage of the red SUV captured on surveillance camera.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615- 742-7463.
