GILES COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was taken into custody late Thursday night for multiple child sex offenses, including incest, according to Giles County officials.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Department said 52-year-old Bernie Milton Jett of Lynnville was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 20 as a result of a lengthy investigation.
Authorities said Jett is charged with multiple counts of statutory rape by an authority figure, incest with a minor, and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. However, more charges are expected in this ongoing investigation, as well as the potential for additional arrests.
“I am very proud of the hard work our investigators are doing,” Sheriff Joseph Purvis said in a statement on Friday, Feb. 21. “They are fully committed to aggressively pursuing child predators, and bringing them to justice.”
No additional details have been released about the circumstances that led to Jett being charged.
