NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting early Monday morning that injured a person walking in an apartment building breezeway in South Nashville.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, just after 2:30 a.m. Monday, officers were called to an apartment building in the 700 block of Spence Lane where a man was shot in the left thigh.
The victim reportedly told police he walked outside with his brother when they were approached by a man in a black hoodie, who fired about five shots. He claimed there was no altercation before the shooting, and he did not see where the man went afterward.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Officials reported his injuries were non-life-threatening.
According to court documents, investigators reviewed surveillance camera footage and saw a man in a black hoodie approach the two men before a short interaction occurred. The man in the hoodie then fired a gun several times and left the scene. Officials said the suspect entered an apartment and later exited wearing different clothes.
Officers located the man, who was identified as 35-year-old Maurice Jones. According to court documents, he was questioned at MNPD Headquarters, where he allegedly confirmed he fired shots at the victim.
Jones is being held in Metro jail and charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony reckless aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. His bond is set at $300,000.
No additional details about the motive for the shooting have been released.
