NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Detectives “took four dangerous teens off the streets” and seized their guns Friday night in connection with two separate cases, according to Nashville law enforcement.
In the first case, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said a victim was carjacked at gunpoint in the 200 block of Davenport Drive, but investigators learned an AirTag was in his Infiniti Q50 sedan, allowing it to be tracked.
After an MNPD helicopter crew spotted the car by McGavock Pike in Donelson, detectives on the ground “saw that the car was part of a street racer meet with people hanging out of the windows as the car sped around and ran red lights,” officials said. As a result, police initiated a coordinated tactical stop of the car at Lebanon Pike and Central Pike.
According to authorities, the 17-year-old driver was arrested for carjacking and felony gun possession. A passenger — identified by law enforcement as 19-year-old Omar Al Hasan — was also taken into custody and is being held on a $105,000 bond for carjacking, felony gun possession, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
In addition, police said they seized the gun used in the carjacking: a tan Springfield Armory Hellcat pistol with a light attached.

In the second case, officials said they learned about social media posts showing a 17-year-old holding a pistol and hanging around a white Dodge Challenger, which was spotted during a South Nashville street racer gathering on Friday, Feb. 14.
According to police, detectives observed the 17-year-old exit and reenter the car with a pistol in his waistband. Then, two individuals — including another 17-year-old — were reportedly seen taking turns firing shots out of the window.
An MNPD helicopter crew kept eyes on the car until authorities could conduct a coordinated vehicle stop at Antioch Pike and Richards Road.

Law enforcement said two guns were seized — one of which was an AR-style pistol stolen from a Smyrna gun store — and both 17-year-olds were charged at Juvenile Court with felony reckless endangerment and gun theft.
