According to a statement from the Dairy Farmers of America, the decision was made after careful consideration. Purity Dairy ice cream products had been manufactured out of Purity Dairy’s facility in Athens, Tennessee, which will instead expand production of Mayfield Dairy ice cream products
The discontinuation of ice cream products will not impact the overall Purity Dairy brand or the Nashville manufacturing facility, which produces fluid milk.
All Purity Dairy ice cream products will be pulled off retail store shelves throughout the first quarter of 2025 and will be replaced with Mayfield Dairy ice cream products.
The Dairy Farmers of America said no jobs would be impacted by the discontinuation.
