NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One person died following a shooting in Germantown Wednesday afternoon, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).
The shooting call was reported at approximately 3 p.m. and officers arrived to the intersection of Jefferson Street and Rosa L. Parks Boulevard to find one person with serious injuries. That individual was reportedly taken to Vanderbilt University Medical for treatment. A post to X from the MNPD at 5:29 p.m. added the individual, only identified as a 40-year-old, later died.
The MNPD said a suspect ran on foot, though officers were able to apprehend the 30-year-old man nearby. Additionally, they were able to recover a weapon from that suspect.
Police said the shooting took place after a verbal dispute between the shooter and the victim. The shooter “was accompanied by his unleashed dog.”
