NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) arrested a man Tuesday for allegedly firing into a woman’s home “after threatening to kill her.”
Authorities said detectives with the MNPD’s TITANS unit arrested 33-year-old David Claiborne. A woman reported receiving a threatening text message from Claiborne before he reportedly showed up at her Crutcher Street home, yelled from outside and fired at her door and window. Both she and a juvenile were home at the time of the incident.
Detectives found Claiborne at a Dabbs Avenue home where he tried to flee from a traffic stop. However, the MNPD was able to take him into custody Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, authorities recovered a handgun from his path.
In an interview with detectives, Claiborne reportedly admitted to the shooting. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. As of publication, he is in jail on a $100,000 bond.
