NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 19-year-old has been charged after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase Saturday night.
Brayden Hoffman, of South Nashville, was charged as a part of the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Street Racing Initiative.
According to an MNPD press release, the chase began after Hoffman was seen drag racing in an Audi A5. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, and he reportedly fled at a high rate of speed down Interstate 40 West.
A Metro police helicopter was deployed to follow the Audi as it allegedly hit speeds of over 120 mph and used the left shoulder to pass other vehicles, officials said.
Officers stopped Hoffman on Murfreesboro Pike at Pin Hook Road, where he reportedly complied with their requests. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a “small amount of marijuana” and a pipe, reports said.
Hoffman is charged with felony evading arrest, misdemeanor drag racing, misdemeanor drug possession and misdemeanor paraphernalia possession. His bond is set at $34,000.
