NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 35-year-old man was charged with bank robbery after investigators determined he took a ride-share to commit the crime.
Metro police reported a man robbed the U.S. Community Credit Union on Hermitage Avenue on Friday, Jan. 24 by handing the teller a note.
The note told the teller there was a bomb in the bank and in the their car, according to court documents. After the robbery, the suspect ran away toward the Silliman Evans Bridge.
According to court documents, Alamin Shakur was identified as a suspect after detectives determined he took a ride-share before and after the robbery. The account was registered under Shakur’s name.
Shakur was taken into custody Thursday and charged with felony robbery. His bond was set at $100,000.
