NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Detectives are working to locate a vehicle that is believed to have been involved in robberies that recently occurred in the Nashville area.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the first robbery took place on Jan. 7 as a woman was walking along Elkins Avenue near 50th Avenue North. A gray Nissan Maxima reportedly pulled up next to woman and a man with a handgun got out, demanded her purse and knocked her to the ground.
Police said the victim’s iPhone 12, debit card and social security card were all inside her purse when it was stolen.
The next day, another victim reported she was inside her apartment complex’s laundry room on Woodard Boulevard when she let a man inside from the parking lot, believing he was a resident.
However, once the man gained entry, he immediately put a gun to her head and demanded cash, police said. He allegedly took the victim’s wallet and keys before leaving in a gray Maxima.
The third incident occurred the following day, Jan. 9, at the Aldi store on Nolensville Pike, according to the MNPD. In that incident, a man reportedly approached a woman as she was loading groceries into her trunk and demanded her purse.
Since the woman didn’t have a purse, the suspect ripped her jacket off, which contained her driver’s license, iPhone 14 and car keys. Police said they later found her iPhone at Radnor Avenue near Meade Street.
Anyone with information about the gray Maxima or the suspect involved is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
